Rules of the Dojang for students

The purpose of these rules, which have been an inherent part of Tae Kwon Do since its inception, is to ensure maximum benefit from the study of Tae Kwon Do. These are not rules tat should be followed some of the time but ALL OF THE TIME. Consequences in red!

Address the instructor as sir or ma'am.

NO food or drinks aloud on the training floor. You will be asked to dispose of it.

Always remember to bring your uniform and belt. Never leave your uniform or belt at the dojang. 40 Pushups

Wear a clean uniform, trim your nails; clean hands & feet are important.

Loud conversation, laughing, chewing gum, and wearing watches or jewelry have no place in Tae Kwon Do training. 20 Pushups

Do not enter class late. If you arrive late, stand at the edge of the training floor and ask "Permission to join the class" and then line up against the wall and start your 20 Pushups

If leaving leave early, Let your instructor know before class and ask permission. before you leave.

Bow to the flag and instructor when entering or leaving the do-jang. (School)
1st time warning, 2nd time 20 Pushups

When a Instructor enters the do-jang, the highest-ranking belt must call the class to attention and have the class bow.

Students are expected to be courteous and understanding. They are expected to help fellow students whenever possible.

Assume the position of attention while speaking to the instructor or any Black Belt. 1st time warning, 2nd time 20 Pushups

Do not engage in any activities which might degrade the code of Tae Kwon Do Ethics or the Center's reputation. Suspension or expulsion from the school.

Any substitute teacher should be treated as you would your instructor.

Students must have the approval of the Center to enter any tournament, competition or demonstration. Suspension or expulsion from the school.

Do not participate in any activities held by a school or club other than East Tennessee Tae Kwon Do, and affiliated clubs without permission of the instructor. Suspension or expulsion from the school.

The do-jang must always be kept clean.

When doing pushups as discipline, you should sound off each time with "1 Sir, 2 Sir", and so on. If you know the Korean numbers, those should be used. After you have finished, remain in pushup position and ask "Permission to recover sir" and wait for acknowledgement from your instructor

 
 
 
Rules of the Dojang for spectators

The purpose of these rules is to keep the concentration of the students with out any distractions.

NO coaching, instructing, or yelling at any student who is on the floor.

No loud talking that could be a distraction to the students.

No smoking!

No walking out onto the dojang floor.

No picture taking unless permission was received by the Instructor PRIOR to class.

The use of drugs or alcohol is prohibited from inside or around the school.
